Saffron empowers the immunity system for its valuable constituents. Regular Use of saffron has shown that it can improve the human immunity system by regulating body performance as well as preventing viral diseases, such as flu, cold, and even Coronavirus. Saffron’s anti-inflammatory effects, which indirectly boost human immunity by enhancing cellular and humoral immunity functions, is now an undeniable health benefit.

Saffron stigma has the potential to act as an immunomodulatory medicinal herb as it is full of carotenoids. Saffron empowers the immunity system and eliminates catching viral viruses such as Covid-19. 

That being said, saffron crocin and crocetin components make strong antioxidant effects, enhancing saffron effectiveness on the immunity system. The anti-inflammatory effects of saffron can positively improve neutrophils, act as natural killer cells cytotoxicity, improve lymphoid and myeloid cells, and improve pro and anti-inflammatory cytokines. In addition to that, saffron has shown positive immunomodulatory effects on cell signaling pathways, such as MAPK, NF-KB, iNOs & COX-2 pathways.  

Another study has investigated the effect of saffron petals on the immunity system, as well. The results of this study have shown the positive effect of petals on blood pressure, and the immunity system. Saffron petals are known beneficial for their anthocyanins and flavonoid components. This study concluded that the regular use of Persian saffron increases the antibody response and improves the overall immunity function in humans.

The immunity properties of saffron have been emphasized by different investigations. An enhanced immunity system empowers the body to fight infections and reduces the chance of catching viral diseases. Many pharmaceutical companies buy Persian saffron as an ingredient to their immune-related products. People can also improve their immunity system by regular consumption of saffron as a part of their daily diet. There are many ways to use saffron in your diet. Saffron tea, saffron milk, or using saffron in different foods are creative ways to add saffron to your daily diet and help your body fight against viruses.
